Nothing has been said on this, nothing has been implied beyond what's all ready stated in this thread.

I think it's interesting to keep the A and Rt classes based on Cantha. By that, I mean leave the A and Rt bosses there, and leave Tyria as it is. Unless they develop some plot twist to add and mix between the two of them.

Let me give you an example: just as they added in LA the Mhenlo quest, while mentioning Luxons and Kurzics there, they could say there was a massive exodus of (insert whatever race/critter from any given location here) and add them to a specific region of Tyria.

Just as well, they could introduce the notion of some cultural exchange between Cantha and Tyria, and add Canthan armor crafters (read armor crafters for A and Rt) to say, Droknar's Forge.

However, as I mentioned above, I believe it's interesting to be forced to travel back to your "home town" for armor (maybe new armor skins could be added only in Cantha for Canthan classes). Gives you a reason to go back.

I think it would be stupid for them not to add at least a minimum of new content for the Canthan professions. It would not only make playing as a ritualist or an assassin in Nightfall completely pointless, it would also be a pretty bad marketing move on their part.

After all, adding content for the Factions's exclusive professions into Nightfall is yet another reason to buy Nightfall if you already own Factions.

Ha, exactly why I have suited up my Ranger, Warrior, and Necro.. My sin is only at Senji's Corner with 1.5k Exotic and I just deleted my lvl 16 Rit today.

Well, I guess they ARE called "CORE" for a reason.

But it's not official, so keep your chin up.

There's an evolutionary process for a lot (not all, to be sure) of information on these fansites: 1. An innocent question >> 2. Idle speculation >> 3. Rumor >> 4. Rampant Rumor >> 5. "Anet Says."

When the question came up about Tyrian Characters being able to play in Factions, Gaile Gray said that each new chapter is a continuation of the story and that they did not want people to have to leave their beloved characters behind. (or something like that, I'll get the link in a few, if search is working ) Why would they change this for Cantha characters?

Do y'all think A-Net wants to cause a whole bunch of people to not buy their products by restricting their characters to a few places? (Angering your customers is not a good business practice for any company)

I believe the concern is that there will not be new armor/weapons/skills for the Factions professions in Nightfall (just as there aren't in Prophecies), not that those professions won't be able to go over there.

It really is too early to know what ANet will do on this.

Threads like this should be answered by a mod and closed. These threads that flame ANet based on assumptions and speculation are beginning to wear on me.

Rits and Sins are special bonuses for Factions and factions only. They both have 75 skills, and always will; they will never get more. There is no chance of them releasing new rit/sin armor in PvE, and an extremely slim chance that it would be released in PvP chars. Most likely on top of that, playing a rit/sin in Nightfall will be just as awkward as playing a rit/sin in tyria.

Rit/sins are specialized classes made for the special features of the Factions campaign, though they have the freedom to traipse about the other Chapters if they so choose.

As I see it, there are only two ways to end speculation on a video game forum for good:

1) Actual communication with back and forth dialogue from Developers.
2) Ban anyone who would dare speculate without having extensive references. Ban everyone else for good measure. Shut down registration.

Things that are so counterproductive in attempting to stop speculation threads that they may very well increase them:

1) Flaming/trolling/etc.
2) The dreaded "soon".
3) PR telling users things we already know or things that have nothing to do with the original question asked.

Not really. Sure they said in some interviews, but they didn't make it well known to most of their customers. They suck at communication, obviously. They should have stated it in their Faction's game manual or on the back of the box.
Communication?? This is what buggery happens when people dont read. People try to claim that the EULA is constantly under breach, but only a small portion of those people have actually read it.

If I do not purchase Guild Wars Factions, will I be able to create Assassins or Ritualists either as primary or secondary professions?

No. Assassins and Ritualists are exclusive to Guild Wars Factions and will not be accessible to players who have purchased only the original Guild Wars campaign.

Granted it says that Prophecies only owners will not be able to have rits or sins, but it does not say that Prophecies/Factions/Nightfall nor just Factions/Nightfall owners cannnot have Rits or Sins. It also does not say that Nightfall won't have Rit and Sin support, although it can be read as such. I am not planning on buying a extra slot unless it can be a Nightfall Sin. Then is will buy a Sin and a Mes, make one of each and take a character from the previous campains through (assuming I buy 3).

So it is finacially advantagous for Nightfall to have previous campain support

And this thread was supposed to have been closed with my comment up there, apparently I forgot to hit the little close button.
